NeXus for Blender is INSYDIUM’s GPU-accelerated particle and simulation system, previously exclusive to Cinema 4D. Fluids, fire, smoke, grains and constraint-based dynamics all run on the GPU with real-time viewport feedback.

Why GPU Simulation Changes the Work
Particle work is where a lot of hobbyist 3D stalls, and the reason is not that the ideas are hard — it is that iteration becomes unaffordable.
When a test takes twenty minutes, you stop trying things. You commit to your first idea because you cannot afford a second. Effects get good through iteration, so a slow solver does not just cost time — it costs quality.
Real-time feedback changes the activity from waiting to art directing. That is the actual value, more than any individual feature.
Theron: Built on Vulkan, Not CUDA
NeXus runs on Theron, a GPU engine INSYDIUM built on a modern Vulkan foundation rather than adapting the old code.
The vendor neutrality is the notable part. Vulkan means NVIDIA, AMD and Intel GPUs on Windows and Linux, plus macOS via Metal. Most GPU simulation tooling is CUDA-only, and therefore NVIDIA-only. The Blender edition also uses 64-bit VRAM addressing, allowing larger simulations on the GPU.
What Is In It
Four solvers for liquids and granular material — PBD, SPH, FLIP and APIC — because no single solver suits every shot.
Simulation modules include nxFluids, nxExplosiaFX, nxFoam, nxSplash, nxWave, nxFlowField and nxConstraints. Forces cover attraction, avoidance, drag, flocking, turbulence, vorticity and wind. Particle data can be read in shader and Geometry Nodes, and particles export to native Blender particles or Geometry Nodes with caching.
The Price Correction
Worth stating plainly, because outdated posts are still circulating: the free public beta has ended. NeXus for Blender 2026.0 is a released commercial product.
It sells as a perpetual licence with twelve months of updates included — not a subscription, which is increasingly rare in this market. Existing INSYDIUM Fused or X-Particles customers get a standing discount.
Requirements, and One Real Caveat
- Blender 4.3 or later, including 4.5 LTS and Blender 5.x, installed through the Extensions platform
- A modern GPU with at least 4GB of VRAM — demos were recorded on a two-generation-old RTX 3090, so this is not high-end-only
- Vulkan 1.3 on Windows and Linux, Metal 3 on macOS
- Online licensing — it contacts a licence server every time Blender starts. This is not an offline product, which matters if your connection is unreliable or you work under restricted networking.
Who It Is For
Motion graphics and VFX artists doing serious particle work, and former Cinema 4D users who moved to Blender and missed X-Particles — an audience INSYDIUM has openly identified.
